U Gotta Be Kiddin Me

We are waiting here, my Son needs to get his stuff packed for his Dads for the weekend. He procrasinates and takes his time. I still have to stop and get gas. Ought to be fun. Well I think we are about to head out before traffic gets too bad.

I did not know that this was happening at my Son's School. This morning my Son's school participated in a event to break a Guiness Record in reciting the Gettysburg address. I did not know about it. His school is Logan and another school here in the QC also participated. I don't know the outcome as I just found out, literally seconds ago.

And definitely fits the title of my blog. My BF employer is laying people off. Just like 99% of all the companies due to the recession and poor economy. My BF basically told me last week that there are rumors going around the company about what may happen. He basically said, they are letting people go whom have points accumalated for missing work, being late as its basically a merit system. Yesterday they laid off 37 people. One of those 37 people went to the news station to say he was let go because of his race and so was the majority of the other people. I find that amusing. Especially when at the party I saw maybe a handful of hispanics and african americans. And according to my BF, the people let go had higher points and those people despite race or not were let go. Because they like all companies recently have to let people go because of the economy. I see a fighting ensuing. I am now wondering if more people are going to join into the so called racist firing. Some people just can't accept that they like ALOT of people are being let go, and using the merit system is how this company was following the rules. How sad that they have to take a stab because their pride was damaged. I feel bad for all the people who are being let go. Period, its a hard pill to swallow. People have to learn to pick themselves up and keep going.
