Quick note..

The New Year will be here in about 4 hours...what will 2009 bring for all of us. Here is one thing I am hoping it does bring... A big change, and not just for me but for everyone. A positive outlook on life and changing the direction of my life. I am tired of living in this rut. I need a change of pace. And hopefully for the better.

Have not posted really.

Like I said in a post or two ago, I have not been online. With the way the weather has been, its insane. Either its snow, ice, freezing rain, below zero temps, then all of a sudden 45 degree weather causing that 20+ inches of snow melt causing the rivers to rise and flood in a rapid fashion. Earlier this year we had a huge rescue operation in March 2008 to rescue families living along the rivers because the weather warmed up quickly, causing ice jams like this Thick Ice Jam on Rock River. Which caused a huge problem for people trying to stick it out. And what people don't understand is the people who live along the river, love it there. They choose to live there. And others say to them, just move and they won't have that problem. Those people just don't understand River life. Just like the people who live in California have to worry about quakes and the people who live in Florida worry about hurricanes. You can't tell them people to just move, its their life...they love it where they are at. Leave them be. But what's ironic is the possibility of flooding again. In Iowa, close to my Son's Fathers house its flooding again. And the levee still isn't repaired from the damage from earlier this year. So its flooding again. I hope they stay safe. So I hope the "new" bridge doesn't cause another jam again...alot of people are blaming the new bridge... Major Ice Jam- New Bridge These photos are from March 2008.

Wanted to share what family means.

Christmas Poem from Kelcee and Mady

Did you have a good holiday?

Sunday, December 28th, 2008
I know I did. It started off at my Sisters home with all the kids minus mine of course and Kylin and Kailei who was with their Mommy celebrating with their Grandparents. So it was just Kelcee, Kyle, Madison, Logan, Alexis and Ethan. It was a joyous night. I think what was the best part was Santa coming in early and visiting the kids. They loved it. My BF and I were the last to leave my Sisters, usually we are the first but we stayed and visited. It was nice to spend that time with my Sister. We played some Yahtzee, then of course you know Santa visited too and dropped his presents off. We managed to make it home sometime after 1am. Went to bed and slept. Yes, slept. And pretty much slept most of the day on the couch. Then my BF's kids showed up at I don't know what time. Then come Friday my Son came home and the kids opened their gifts and was pretty much in heaven and have been playing their PSP's and DS's ever since. Its amazing. And its so quiet here. On Saturday it was my BF's Son's birthday. Weird saying he's 17 years old now. WOW. He has grown up so fast right before our eyes. Well enough for now. We made a huge lunch today and I am a bit hungry but not too hungry so I may eat something light for dinner. We had leftovers from our dinner on Friday.

Well since its not as cold.

While my Son was away with his Father for that week. It had gotten really cold here. So I myself was alone. Granted it was pure heaven. NO ONE HERE. I went in and borrowed my Son's heated blanket and boy did it keep me warm. I really need to buy one for our bed but his worked for the time needed. And I really appreciated it. I put it back the day he came back home. I haven't really posted on here all weekend. Was just enjoying some true quality time with the family. If you know what I mean. Playing video games with the kids, watching movies with no distractions such as video games and computers. We have my BF's kids for this week and its gonna be fun. Nothing but video games...lol. All week. But see, I am lucky. The kids are really good. When I say good, I mean good. They are really quiet. My Mom has a hard time I think coming here and seeing how quiet it is all the time. She keeps asking me, is it like this all the time. And it really is. I love it!!!

Can you believe it?

We rented House Bunny yesterday and oh my goodness. I love Anna Faris, she may act like a total blonde on TV as they say they are really, really like duh. We all know that's a Myth because this woman is absolutely amazing. I would of died during the filming of laughter. I loved one part of the film where she meets the girls of the house and she had a certain way of remembering names. I bout died just watching that part itself. Oh and the "Little Birdy" part as well...Won't go into detail in case anyone hasn't seen it but be prepared because its a funny movie.

What is with this weather?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008
Its insane. They just showed that Jacksonville,FL was low of 45 and New Orleans was at 33 degrees. How amazing is that? And with the one two punch of snowstorms in our area. We in the Midwest get pounded so badly its not funny. And the New England area....WOW!!!! Right now we have another Winter Storm watch that will be here around 11:30pm. And its going to be continous til' Friday. Speaking of bad weather, I am worried about my Son so I am about to call him and see how he's doing. Ok he's fine. They went sledding today. From the bits and pieces cause the phone was cutting out. I told him to call me if he needs to talk. I know he won't. He's having too much fun.

Ok, I don't normaly look at the remotes. Especially the DVD remote, its not mine so I don't touch it. Well I moved it and bout threw up. There was dried food on the buttons. It was so gross, and I am going to let the BF know that he needs to wash his hands before touching the remote. I took the batteries out and cleaned it with a Q-tip and organic cleaner from clorox. Had too. It was just disgusting. I think I may do it with all the remotes in the house. I can't imagine the germs on remotes right now.

Since I’ve been organizing.

When I was upstairs moving stuff around, if you remember them moth ball things that smell which I can never remember the names of them something like Indian meal moth traps . I came across a stash of them upstairs. I kept wondering what the smell was. But what I can't figure out is why they were upstairs. Right next to the furnace which is upstairs in the attic. I've never heard of that. Well, the alarm just went off for the food. Lets go see what's done...
