I missed the Flood of 93'. I lived in Rockford at the time so I only saw the after effects while I visited my Parents back then. But living back here today, seeing the devastation and how wide spread it is. And especially how its affecting my family members. My Grandparents who live within a couple miles of the river, are watching the water levels in their town. Its very close to the top of the levee. And then my Ex Hubby called today and said that the water is up by his house as well. He took some pictures that ended up on website of his newspaper. And I hate to sound mean and nasty. But you see on the news that the President says lets get focused on the flood waters, blah, blah, blah.... Give me a break Mr President...look at what happen with Hurrican Katrina...look at those people. Why are you going to start something now? The damage is done. Help the families that were affected. Especially the people who never would of thought it would hit them. Cedar Rapids, IA. For example 1300 city blocks affected. People who lived in the downtown area in the buildings. You never would of assumed it would happen to them. SO many people...the Red Cross is in the red now so that means minimal help for the families who so need the help.
