Its been so chaotic at work. The responsibility of having to make sure we have enough product for the weekends. A couple weekends ago we basically emptied our greenhouse. The store manager made a comment it was unacceptable. I totally agreed with him. What I am afraid of, is ordering too much stuff and being stuck with product. Which has happened already. We had pansies from the first day I started that just now got thrown away. This is all new to me. I am used to just putting the product out when it arrives. The stuff is already preordered, from previous years. Makes no sense to me though. Because this year, I am able to sit there and listen to the customer and try to fulfull their requests onto what stuff they are interested in. So when I overheard a customer say how much they liked this plant that was in the center piece of a planter pot. I looked on the order sheet and seen they had it. I ordered it. And guess what? It sold immediately. Granted the planter pots didn’t sell as well. They are selling now because I keep them clean, trimmed and deadheaded. The flowers are blooming like crazy.
I simply love what I do. I enjoy what I do. I am lucky. But it only lasts for another month. Which is fine. I can deal with that.
